‘1971 Shei Shob Din’ running in theatres for the third week

Hridi Huq’s directorial debut ‘1971 Shei Shob Din’ continues to be a hit among audiences, running in theatres for a third week straight.

Hridi Huq’s directorial debut “1971 Shei Shob Din” continues to be a hit among audiences, running in theatres for a third week straight. 

Since its initial release on August 18 the Liberation War-based film has packed theatres in Bashundhara Star Cineplex, Jamuna Blockbuster, Bangabandhu Military Museum, and Diyabari’s Fantasy Island. The film is also showing in various halls in Australia. 

The film portrays a family’s experiences during 1971, among struggle, love and trial. Huq stated on the film’s success, “We are happy to receive the love and admiration from audiences across the nation. Younger generations have also shown their interest in the film, which is truly a positive sign for us.”

Actress Tareen Jahan made her transition from television drama’s with “1971 Shei Shob Din”. Speaking on her experience Jahan said, “I am happy to make my debut in Hridi’s first-ever film– I hadn’t made my debut in cinema until now because I was never presented with a script that I genuinely admired.”

Veteran actor Ferdous Ahmed plays the role of Sanju in the movie, alongside Mamunur Rashid, Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Munmun Ahmed, Shilpi Sharkar Apu, Tareen Jahan, Litu Anam, Saju Khadem, Sanjida Preeti, among others.
