The government on Wednesday fixed an annual goods and service export target of $72 billion for the current financial year, projecting an 11.59% year-on-year growth.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi announced the target at a press conference at his secretariat office in Dhaka.
Of the targeted amount, $62 billion has been fixed for merchandise shipment, up from $55.55 billion in the last fiscal year FY23.
Export target for services for 2023-24 has been set at $10 billion, an increase of 11.11% from $9 billion in FY23.
In FY22, Bangladesh earned $52.08 billion from export of goods against the target of $43.5 billion, showing a 19.73% growth.
